Overview
New and refurbished
learning spaces
The Tweed Heads Schools project involved the major refurbishment of several existing buildings and the construction of 6 new buildings across both the Tweed Heads South Public School and the Tweed River High School sites. The two schools share a common boundary and street frontage but remain separate for operational purposes.
Much of the Contract was Design and Construct taken from Detailed Design to completion with the VET works portion a Design and Construct taken from Schematic Design to completion.
The Works were staged heavily across the period and undertaken in a live environment particularly where refurbishment works occurred. In addition to the building works, the contract included the demolition of existing buildings returning areas to outdoor play space and provision of major supporting services upgrades for the construct works.
The Project was undertaken through a period which saw both the impacts of Covid-19 and significant flooding in the region impacting the local area and trade subcontractor market.
