Fit out project
The Mackillop Family Services Fit Out project was scheduled to commence on March 1, 2022, but its trajectory was altered with a devastating natural disaster struck the Northern Rivers and Lismore region on February 28, 2022, unleashing record flooding.
Weeks later, despite the challenges posed by the flood-damaged building, including power outages, water damage, and restricted access to the third floor, the project began. The COVID-19 pandemic also added complexity with material procurement and supply chain disruptions. Workers resorted to using fire stairs and a scissor lift to transport materials to the third floor. Despite these adversities, Bennett Project Team persevered, delivering the fit-out on time, within budget, and to impeccable standards.
The project served as a symbol of resilience and hope for the community, being one of the first new office spaces to emerge after the disaster.
