FINALLY GETTING STARTED
After nearly 8 months in delay due to COVID related issues, the school has decided to continue as planned with the construction of a new performance/sports hall.
The project consists of a main hall area, a stage, dance studio, private gym, change rooms and a small kitchen with an extension of the external carpark/civil areas.
The project initially came out for tender in later October 2019 and after an arduous tender process, Bennett was awarded the tender in March 2020, only to be delayed a month later. Since then the client has completed the bulk earthworks component of the works and Bennett has driven 84 reinforced concrete piles into the ground at a depth of 52m.
The site location was originally swampland and its notorious for its sinking height and only recently have we discovered that the state survey marks have settled 150mm below their original position.
Needless to say, the site team is excited to finally start the project and look forward to delivering another successful project for the repeat client.
The site team consists of Neil Durston (PM), Shannon Davis (SM), Kyle Scully (CA), Brett Marchant (Estimator).
