BAPTISTCARE RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT LISMORE
Under the head contract with Lendlease, the residential development for Baptistcare NSW & ACT and NSW Department of Family & Community Services as part of the SAFH1 rollout, achieved Occupation Certificate this week.
The 35 unit complex consists of seven buildings of both single and double level dwellings. The self-contained one and two bedroom units are aptly named ‘Garimelah Place’ (Taking care of yourself). Adding to the social housing stock in the area we will see independent senior residents, disabled persons and families move into their beautiful swanky new premises in last March 2019, just a hope, skip and jump away from the expanding Lismore Base Hospital.
The design and construct project inherently carried a number of challenges due to the design element of the scope of work itself; the onerous head contract; the site topography; poor soil type; extensive soil contamination; the Lismore sub-tropical climate; and the highly restrictive site space and access. Our scope of works for the project was extensive, inclusive of: Design, Attainment of the Construction Certificate.
The project was delivered by a tight knit team including – Jeremy Todd (Project Engineer), Mick Furchtman (Site Manager), Andy Ibell (Site Supervisor), Brad Mayes (Project Manager), our eternally skilled Paul Morgan (Finishing Carpenter), our hardworking fast talking site labourer – Ernie Dela Cruz and the lovely Tanya Viney (Project Administration). The complex and onerous challenges overcome, the quality of the Project teams performance.
All should be very proud of their delivery on this project as is the company as a whole!
