Darryl Piper
Managing Director
Darryl joined the Bennett Group in 1994 after a fifteen-year career with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Initially, Darryl worked within Bennett’s Hire and Crane operations. He was promoted to Manager of this division in 1999 before progressing to the role of Company Accountant.
Darryl was appointed as a Director in 2002 and has served as Bennett Constructions’ Managing Director since 2005.
Qualifications

Kevin Dalton
Company Secretary/Director
Kevin has over forty years experience in accounting, finance and management in the building and construction industry.
He has served the Bennett Group as Director and Company Secretary since 1978.
Since 1994, Kevin has represented the North Coast and Tweed Regional group as a Councillor to the Master Builders Association of NSW Council of Management.
In addition, Kevin has been a Director of Mayne Investments Limited since this time.
Mayne Investments Limited is a mortgage investment fund which invests in a portfolio of property loans secured by first mortgage.
Such loans include the provision of finance for construction and development projects in New South Wales and South East Queensland.

Dennis Fredericks
Construction Manager
Dennis’ long career in the building and construction industry began in 1965, when he became an apprentice carpenter.
In 1983 Dennis joined Bennett Constructions as an Estimator and Project Manger before being appointed Construction Manager in 1998.

Robert Lloyd
Project Manager
After completing his cadetship in 1974, Robert embarked on his career as a professional Quantity Surveyor.
He gained valuable experience while working on major Government projects in Canberra before moving to the North Coast in 1982.
Since this time, Robert has been employed as an Estimator and Project Manager on a range of major commercial developments in Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland.
Robert has been a member of the Bennett Constructions team since 1997.

Simon Romalis
Project Manager
After graduating from university in 1986, Simon enjoyed a distinguished twenty-year career in Sydney where he was responsible for the project management of many large commercial projects.
In 2006, Simon and his family decided it was time for a “sea change” and made the beautiful Northern Rivers their home.
Simon has been a member of the Bennett Constructions team since 2007 in his role as Project Manager.

Edgar Alberto
Project Estimator
Upon completing his degree, Edgar worked as Architectural Draftsman for Government funded projects and private architectural firms in the Philippines.
During the peak demand period for professionals from abroad, Edgar accepted employment with major international construction companies in the Middle East (Hanjin Engineering and Construction Co Ltd) and Singapore (Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co Ltd).
Edgar used this time to gain an impressive range of skills in the roles of Project Coordinator, Office and Site Architect, Quantity Surveyor and Estimator.
In 2001, Edgar moved to Australia to join his family and pursue further studies. Since moving to the Northern Rivers in 2006, Edgar has worked as a Project Estimator with Bennett Constructions.

Steve Garbutt
Project Coordinator
Steve has over forty years experience in the building industry. Twenty years of service to the Department of Commerce enabled Steve to act in a variety of roles which led to his appointment as Projects Coordinator for the Wilson, Tweed and Richmond areas.
In this position, Steve planned and programmed major and minor capital and maintenance works for all public buildings in the area.
In 1994, Steve brought his significant local knowledge and experience to Bennett Constructions, in the position of Project Coordinator.
